Levi “Lee” Rotert, 85, of Raytown, MO passed away Tuesday, September 02, 2008 at Hidden Lake Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with the rosary being recited at 10:30 a.m. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Lee was born September 25, 1922 in Montrose, MO to Joseph Benjamin and Elizabeth (Greufe) Rotert. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Rotert was an active and faithful member of the Catholic Church. He retired from Sears & Roebuck Co. after 30 years of service in 1987. Lee was known for his sweet personality and care for others. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and fishing in his spare time. Mr. Rotert is survived by his sons Stephen Rotert and wife Kathy of McCormick, SC, Phillip Rotert and wife Nancy of Kansas City, MO, John Rotert of Liberty, MO, Gregory Rotert and wife Marsha of Bozeman, MT; grandchildren Jeff, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Mark, Brian, Amanda, Lauren, Calli, Bret, Danny, Eric, Matthew, Ruthann, Paul, Benjamin, Kyle and Kaleigh; nine great-grandchildren; sister Adeline Schmedding; and by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends. Lee was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Rotert in ’00, his son David Rotert in ’07.
