James Round

James L. “Jim” Round, 74, of Independence, MO, passed away Monday, September 17, 2007 from a heart attack. Memorial visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jr. Golf Division of the K.C. Golf Association, 10540 Barkley, Overland Park, KS 66212-1811, 913-649-5242. Jim was born December 12, 1932 in West Concord, MN to Stewart H. and Catherine E. (Wilson) Round. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Round retired in 1987 from the Raytown School District as an Assistant Principal. His passion was visiting with family and friends. Jim was an avid golfer and fan of sports: Chiefs, MU Tigers, golf, and high school sports were some favorites. Jim was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the American Legion, was on the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Golf Association, as well as past President. He also served on the Board of Directors for the M.G.A. Mr. Round is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dale O. (Owen) Round; sons Thomas L. Round and wife Donna, David S. Round and wife Susie; sister-in-law Carol Round. Two brothers preceded Jim in death.
