Patricia Round

Patricia “Dale” Round (Owen) died on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at age 76 while hospitalized at St. Luke’s on the Plaza. Dale was a resident at The Fountains in Independence. Dale was born on May 3, 1934 in Minnesota. She married Jim Round in June, 1954. After college at Koehler School of Nursing, Rochester Minn, Dale and Jim resided in the suburbs of Kansas City, MO. Dale was a Supervisor of Nursing for St. Luke’s hospital on the Plaza for almost 40 years. Dale also was the school nurse in the Raytown school district for a number of years. Jim and Dale had two sons, Tom Round of Lee’s Summit and Dave Round of Lee’s Summit. Dale enjoyed visiting with family and friends or whoever would drop by to say hi. Until recent months she played bridge having many laughs among friends. Dale was preceded in death by husband Jim Round, September 17, 2007 at age 74. Survived by Tom Round, wife Donna, Lee’s Summit and Dave Round, wife Susan, Lee’s Summit, MO. Cremation is planned with a memorial visitation to be held from 4-7:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a nursing education scholarship fund at St. Luke’s hospital on the Plaza.
