Mary Little Routhieaux, 71, passed away August 15th, in Independence, Missouri 2010.
Mary was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin June 20, 1939 to Rose and Dean Little. She attending St. Joseph’s Catholic High School graduating in 1957.A Mid-West traveler and resident of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Texas and Missouri; she loved the mountains, the desert and gorgeous vistas, her favorite being the Rockies.
Mary attended the Kansas City Art Institute, and in Bozeman, Montana where she studied Photography, Printmaking and Painting. She shared her passion for art and artists with everyone she met and educated them along the way.
Mary is survived by daughters Molly Routhieaux Braley (L. Scott) and Dana Louise Routhieaux; Granddaughter Adeline Rose Braley...the joy of her life and budding artist; sisters Margaret Little (Bill Bronn) MN, Jean Little HI, Cathy Malec (James Malec) MN; brothers: Greg Little (Marjo) WI, Bill Little (Mary) HI, and Peter Little (Yvonne Calizar) HI; and 11 ‘Little’ nieces and nephews; former husband John M. Routhieaux and daughter-in-laws Connie Welter and Nancy Carlson.
Mary was loved and cared for by many people whose care giving talents brought her joy, comfort, and peace. She passed away quickly and peacefully; a gift to all who knew her.
Services are private following cremation. The family suggests donations to an Art Education based charity or program of your choice in Mary’s name.
