Zetta Rowland

Zetta Elizabeth Rowland, 86, of Independence, MO went home to be with her Lord on April 26, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Sat., May 1, 2010 at Bethel Baptist Church, 2406 S. M-291 Hwy, Independence, MO. In accordance with Zetta’s wishes, her body was donated to the KU Medical Center to further medical research. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Crossroads Hospice or the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund.
Zetta was born in Lone Jack, MO on Dec. 3, 1923 to Robert Ernest and Jewell Alma (Corn) Moore. She graduated from Central Seminary in 1951 with a Masters in Religious Education. She worked as a secretary for several different organizations before retiring from the VA Hospital in 1979. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she served in many ways. Zetta had a strong passion for missions.
Zetta was preceded in death by her parents, sister Alma Williams and husband Lewis Rowland. Survivors include her son, Robert Osborne, Independence, MO; brothers S.E. Moore, Kingsville, MO; John W. Moore, Blue Springs, MO; brother-in-law Clifford Williams, Oak Grove, MO; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
