Doris Ruikka

Doris M. Ruikka, 82, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, December 11, 2009 at her daughter’s home. Graveside service is 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2009 at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington. Doris was born June 3, 1927 in Creston, IA to Carl F.W. and Zelma (Parker) Jessen. She was a member of the St. Johns Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ in Creston, IA, and attended services at The Groves. Mrs. Ruikka retired from Independence Regional Health Center after 25 years of faithful service in 1992. She is survived by her daughters Terry Rich, Sharon Roxburg; son James Baldridge and wife Tracy; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister Irene Johnson. Doris was preceded in death by her son Larry Baldridge and two brothers.
