Ruth Marion
Dix
August 24, 1925 – March 27, 2026
Ruth Marion Dix, née Cleveland, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, surrounded by love. Born on August 24, 1925, in Dedham, Massachusetts, Ruth lived a life defined by warmth, kindness, and an infectious sense of humor that endeared her to all who knew her.
A woman of impeccable style, Ruth was always beautifully put together, with a keen eye for fashion and a particular fondness for elegant pant suits that reflected her vibrant spirit. Beyond appearances, she was known for her loving heart and her genuine joy in connecting with others. Her many years of service at the Social Security Administration demonstrated her dedication and patience, while her later role in customer service and sales at the Jones Store highlighted her natural gift for engaging with people and brightening their day.
Ruth’s passions extended beyond her career. She found deep happiness tending to her rose bushes, nurturing each bloom with the same care she gave to her family and friends. Hosting family dinners was one of her greatest joys—moments when she could bring everyone together under one roof, sharing laughter, stories, and meals imbued with love. She cherished brunches with her friends, and never missed an opportunity to pamper herself with visits for hair and nail care, embracing life’s simple pleasures. Her home always echoed with the soulful tunes of classic country music, especially the timeless voice of Patsy Cline, which provided a comforting soundtrack to many occasions.
Above all else, Ruth’s proudest accomplishment was her family. She was not only deeply adored by her grandchildren but also cherished as a doting grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her devotion to her family was a testament to her generous spirit and the enduring legacy of love she leaves behind.
Ruth is survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer Martinez; great grandchildren, Adrianna (Jillian) Tucker, Dustin Wrinkle, Destynee Wrinkle, Juan (Makayla) Sanchez, Decody (Amber) Gueltzau, Brittany (Sam) Price, Tristen Wrinkle, Tyler Wrinkle; numerous great great grandchildren; sisters, Elaine, Verna, Teresa; brothers, Dennis and Peter; extended family and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Dix; parents, Everett and Mary Cleveland; children, Janet, Cathy, John, Kenneth; grandson Eric, and siblings, Francis, Denise and Mariam.
