Ryan Mark Olson

Ryan Mark Olson, born on October 26, 1980, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2025, in Independence, Missouri. He graced this world with his warm presence for 45 years.

Ryan was a distinguished account manager at Pure Work Place Solutions, where he was not only well-regarded but genuinely loved by his clients. His exceptional customer service skills and meticulous attention to detail enabled him to advance from an entry-level position, leading to a thorough understanding of the business that set him apart in his field. Colleagues and clients alike admired his ability to connect with people, ensuring that everyone's needs were met with absolute care and precision.

Outside of work, Ryan was a lover of music. A self-taught guitarist, he played in several bands over the years. He wasn’t only a gifted musician but also a vocalist. His love for music was only rivaled by his deep affection for his family; they were at the heart of his universe. Ryan shared a particularly special bond with his nephew, Christian, whom he recently took to his first concert, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Ryan’s passing was preceded by his grandparents, Norma Costigan Swinney, Leo Wainstock, Henry and Marguerite Olson, and his beloved sheltie, Vidjal, who passed just two months earlier. His legacy of love lives on through his parents, Mark and Diane Olson; his sister, Cheryl Bates; his nephew, Christian Bates; his girlfriend, Karla Barnthouse, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many loving friends.

Ryan's visitation will be held on November 6, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Speaks Suburban Chapel, located at 18020 East 39th St S, Independence, MO 64055. This will be followed by a funeral service starting at 2:00 PM, and a graveside service at New Salem Cemetery, located at 1823 N Blue Mills Rd, Independence, MO 64058, commencing at 3:30 PM. Following the graveside, a reception will be held at Susquehanna Baptist Church located at 17800 E Susquehanna Ridge, Independence, MO 64056.
