Samuel S. Ryff�, 76, of Lenexa, KS passed away Friday September 1, 2006 at St. Luke�s Hospital. Cremation is planned with memorial services at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at St. Peter�s United Church of Christ, 700 East 110th Street, Kansas City, MO 64131. Visitation will precede the services from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Sam was born November 11, 1929 in Biel, Switzerland to Fritz and Marie (Held) Ryff�, and immigrated to Kansas City, MO in 1954. While in Switzerland, he apprenticed as an ornamental iron craftsman. He later founded Artistic Ironworks, and was a master craftsman who created beautiful works of art throughout Kansas City and the United States before retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Kansas City Swiss Society, and St. Peter�s United Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife Lotty B. Ryff� in 1988. He is survived by his fianc� Kathlene Keck Meyer of Independence, MO; a daughter Pamela Peter of Pembroke Pines, FL; son, Christopher Ryff� and his wife Carissa of Oak Grove, KY; a brother David Ryff� and wife Mary Jo of Kansas City, MO; 2 sisters, Marie Cslovjecsek and her husband Camille of Biel, Switzerland, and Elizabeth Zbinden and her husband Albert of Romanshorn, Switzerland; 3 grandchildren, Morgan and Nathaniel Ryff�, and Lauren Peter; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
