Suzanne Louise Salva, 72, of Edwards, MO, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Bothwell Regional Hospital in Sedalia, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010 at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church in Sugar Creek, MO with cremation to follow. There will be a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday evening followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m., at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to FF14/17 Volunteer Fire Department in Edwards, MO. Suzanne was born October 13, 1937 in Independence, MO to William and Velma (Israel) Thompson. She grew up in Independence and graduated from Northeast High School in 1957. She had worked for a number of years as a medical technician and phlebotomist for nursing homes before she retired. She was a member of the FF14/17 Volunteer Fire Department in Edwards, MO where she was in charge of 1st Responder Training and a former member of the Firefighters Association. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, sewing and dancing. She was a member of the Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Climax Springs, MO and was a former member of Job’s Daughters. She was married to Steve J. Salva, Jr. on May 6, 1961, he survives of the home. Other survivors include; 2 sons, Christopher Salva and his wife Patricia of Lee’s Summit, MO and William Salva and his wife Mary of Greenwood, MO; a daughter, Sharon McKinney and her husband Doug of Seneca, MO; a sister, Marylou Gildea and her husband Richard of Springfield, PA; a brother-in-law, Raymond Salva and his wife Donna of Sugar Creek, MO; a sister-in-law, Patty Richey and her husband Phil of Blue Springs, MO; 7 grandchildren, Rebecca Hicks, Elizabeth Salva, Spencer Agrusa, Kyle Salva, Cody Salva, Brennan McKinney and Jillian McKinney.
