Florence Sambo

Florence “MeMo” Sambo, 70, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away December 16, 2009 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to follow on Saturday, December 19, at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, Blue Springs, MO. Burial at Blue Springs Cemetery. Florence was born April 13, 1939 in Wabash County, IL, and was raised in Grayville, IL. She was a parishioner of St. John LaLande Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Sambo; mother, Dorothy Shain; father, Woodrow Shain; and one brother, Ray Shain. Florence was survived by her son, Gene Gill and wife Frances; three daughters, Teresa Hicks, Dr. Cynthia Gill, Dana Nigro and husband T.J.; one granddaughter, Tricia; three grandsons, Tommy, Mario and Noah; one great grandson, Leo; one sister, Marie Lydick; and one brother, Norman Shain. MeMo was such a wonderful mother and grandmother, who will be missed dearly by her loving family.
