At 73, Bruce Sanders was an avid runner and weightlifter. He was a WWII history buff; loved classic movies, old radio shows, photography and MU football. Bruce retired from the US Postal Service as Tour Superintendent for downtown Kansas City in 1999 after 38 years of service. He was honorable, kind and generous with his time. Above all, Bruce was a family man. Loving husband; wonderful father, grandfather and brother. Our rock. Our teacher. Our “go-to” guy in a crisis. He never met a problem he couldn't solve or anything he couldn't fix. He will be dearly missed. Bruce left his wife Lynda of 54 years on September 2, 2015; children Catherine (Erich), Diane, Michael (Georgia); grandsons Stephen, John, Alexander, Patrick; brothers Ross (Kathy), Mark (Marjeanne), Wade, Stuart (Vivian); and was reunited with his mother (Helen) and father (Archie). Visitation (9:30-11:00) and Mass (11:00) honoring Bruce's life will be held at Nativity of Mary Church (Independence) on Friday, September 11th.
