Doris Sanders

Doris Lee (Hofmeister) Sanders, 79, of Independence, MO went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Xander Cemetery in Liberty, IL. A memorial service will be 4:30 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church, 400 W. Maple, Independence, MO 64050. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice. Doris was born July 3, 1929 in Quincy, IL to Walter E. and Frieda W. (Frey) Hofmeister. She was united in marriage to Donald J. Sanders on December 25, 1950. Mrs. Sanders was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to the care and service of others. Doris is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald J. Sanders; children Donna L. Hansen and husband Rory of AZ, Debra K. Sanders of AK, David F. Sanders and wife Maria of MO; five granddaughters; brother Roger W. Hofmeister and wife Donna.
