Sandra Dorene Rush, 74 of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Villages of Jackson Creek. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the chapel.. Sandra was born September 21, 1951 in Kansas City, KS to Charles and Norma Jean (Blankenship) Rush and has been a lifelong area resident. She grew up in Kansas City, KS and was a 1968 graduate of Wyandotte High School and later attended The University of Kansas.  She had worked for 37 years as a CNA for Resthaven Nursing Home now known as The Groves in Independence until her retirement. She was an avid sports fan of the Kansas City Royals and statistician and could tell you anything about the Royals. She was a member of the RLDS church and had attended the Eden Heights congregation. She is survived by 2 cousins: Michael David Capp of Independence and Richard E. Capp and wife Mary of Cabool, MO and many other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles “Chuck” Rush.
