Roy Schaaf

Roy G. Schaaf, 54, of Independence, Missouri passed away Friday, January 02, 2009 at his home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Childrens Hospital. Roy was born April 12, 1954 in Independence, MO to Richard L. and Betty J. (Yeates) Schaaf. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1972. Roy was a faithful and dedicated member of the IBEW local #124, where he was a organizer and union steward. Friends were very important to Roy, and he could very often be found helping them out on a car project. He is survived by his wife Marian Schaaf; by his mother Betty; brother Ray Schaaf and wife Cindy; sister Susan Cauveren and husband Mike; brother Ric Schaaf and wife Jo Ann; sister Anita Henderson and husband Robert; by his uncle Rex Schaaf and wife Pat; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. Roy was preceded in death by his father Richard Schaaf in ’76.
