Marjorie Schatz

June 19, 1923 — August 20, 2010

Marjorie Schatz, 87, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, August 20, 2010 at The Groves. Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, August 23 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Marjorie was born June 19, 1923 to Loren and Clara (Elliott) Robinson. She worked at Resthaven and then as an inspector and machine operator for Lake City Ammunition Plant during World War II where she met her second husband, Eugene Starkey. Marjorie was a faithful member of Carlisle Baptist Church. She had a joy for sewing, loved to help people and will be remembered for her fantastic cooking abilities and love for her family. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; second husband Eugene Starkey; daughter Deanna Pearl; third husband William Schatz; and brother Vernon Robinson. She is survived by four grandchildren: Dedra Garciano and husband Rommel, Jesse Pearl, Danny Pearl, and John Pearl; and two great-grandchildren: Rommel Garciano Jr. and Rochelle Garciano.
