Gilbert L. “Butch” Schmidt, 55, Independence, MO passed away February 28, 2013.
Gilbert was born June 3, 1957, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada the son of Gilbert Paul and Eilene Emogene (Lester) Schmidt. He worked as a typesetter. Gilbert enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles and found great peace in quiet reflection. Survivors include his mother, Eilene E. Schmidt; sister, April Moore and husband Gary; brother, David Schmidt and wife Jeanie; sisters, Irene Nordli, Susan Nordli-Simpson; and additional nieces, nephews, and family. He was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore Nordli; and his father.
Memorial services will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Harvesters Food Bank or Comprehensive Mental Health Services, Inc of Independence. When a loved one becomes a memory, a memory becomes a treasure, treasure the memories.
