Mary Schreier

Mary E. Schreier, 70, Independence, MO passed away Dec. 21, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Services will be 2 pm, Monday Dec. 28, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO; interment at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4�"6 pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
Mary was born March 24, 1939 in Kansas City, MO to Grover and Mary (Fleener) Holliger. She worked at the Independence Regional Hospital in the cafeteria and mailroom for over twenty years. She married Robert Schreier on Nov. 26, 1954 and they divorced in 1996.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Jenny Marie Holliger. She is survived by daughter Karen Smith, LaCygne, KS; sons Robert Schreier II, Independence, MO; Brian Schreier, of the home; sisters Geraldean O’Malley, Falls City, NE; Patricia Page, Independence, MO; three granddaughters; two grandsons; five great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons and many other family members and friends.
