Virgil Francis Sciolaro, 82, Grain Valley, MO passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at his home.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army.
Virgil was born March 2, 1927 in Kansas City, MO the son of Joseph Carl and Helen Ethel Mae (Dudley) Sciolaro. He retired from the GM Leads Plant in 1974. Virgil was a member of the UAW Local #93 Union; the (ACD) Auburn Cord Duisenberg Car Club and was member of the Grain Valley First Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling with his family, being around cars and spending time with his family.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a foster child, Nancy Ann Twin in 1999.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, Dolores of the home; daughter, Dana Sciolaro of Grain Valley; grandson, Eric Jourdan; great grandchildren, Virgil and Angel Jourdan; sister, Margaret Cunningham and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
