Clarence Scott

July 31, 1929 — May 3, 2009

Clarence W. “Sparky” Scott, 79, of Independence, MO, passed away, Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital. Sparky was born July 31, 1929 in Independence, MO to Elmer Clarence and Wilma (Williams) Scott and has been a life long are resident graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1948. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and socializing with his many family and friends. He had worked as a carpenter for Phillips Construction for over 30 years before he retired in 1990. He was a member of the Ararat Shrine Temple, the Masonic Lodge in Independence, MO and the F.O.E. # 385. He also belonged to the RLDS Church. He is survived by; 2 daughters, Dixie Stephens and husband Gene of Blue Springs, MO and Cindy Hebblethwaite and husband Jim of Independence, MO; 3 sisters, Betty June Bollin, Wilma Jean Peffer and Sandy Mullendore all on Independence, MO; 5 grandchildren, Jeff Stephens, Nicki Garrett, Randy Stephens, Josh Scott and Natalee Scott and 2 great grandchildren, Peyton Stephens and Cade Stephens.
