Jack "JD� Scott, 70, of Independence, MO passed away on Friday, August 4, at St. Mary�s Hospital in Blue Springs. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. There will be a separate visitation held from 1-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp, MO, followed by a short service in the chapel. Committal will follow at the Cole Camp Memorial Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association. Jack was born on August 11, 1935 in Bentonville, MO to Delbert and Vera (Cobb) Scott. He graduated in 1954 from Warsaw High School. In 1960 at Lincoln, MO, he was united in marriage to Norene Lackman who survives of the home. They made their home in Warsaw, MO, where Jack was employed with Rice Bros. Construction, and in the late fifties he was employed with Sheffield Steel. In 1961 they moved to Kansas City where he was employed with Union Pacific Railroad for 36 years, retiring in 1997. Jack enjoyed helping people and visiting with family, friends and neighbors. His hobbies were fishing, hunting and working on cars and lawnmowers. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jack is survived by his wife Norene of the home; two sons, Gary and Keith Scott of the home; one daughter, Brenda Engle and husband Alan of Lawson, MO; one step-granddaughter, Whitney Engle of Omaha, NE; and two brothers, Wiley Scott of Peculiar, MO and Larry (Jeanie) Scott of Blue Springs, MO.
