Leland Harbert Scott, 77, Independence, MO passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at his home.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at Mound Grove Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Grain Valley Restoration Church; 32811 Truman Rd, Grain Valley, MO, 64029. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
Leland was born August 18, 1934 in Independence, MO the son of Wilson William and Ethel Marie (Hess) Scott. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors Degree in mechanical engineering. Leland retired from ARMCO Steel and later worked for Burns & McDonnell. He was a member of the Grain Valley Restoration Church. Leland served as a Scout Master and was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He enjoyed collecting diecast cars, and photography.
Leland was preceded in death by his daughter, Anne Katharine Scott; one brother; three sisters and his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife, Edith V. Scott of 54 years; sons, Leland Bradley Scott, Daniel Matthew Scott, and James Andrew Scott; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
