Virginia Leatrice Scott (Crosby)

Virginia Leatrice Scott, 92, of Independence, Missouri passed away peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2022. Virginia was born on February 28, 1930, in Kansas City Missouri the daughter of William Jewel and Edna Fern (Berry) Crosby.
Virginia was a faithful Christian and a member of the 39th St Church of Christ. Virginia was a hard worker and started working for the KC Area Transportation Authority in 1968 until retirement in 1997. She was a member of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1287.
Virginia loved her family deeply. She enjoyed hosting birthday parties, playing games with family and friends (particularly a rousing game of Farkle), traveling and was an avid Royals fan.
Virginia is survived by her children, William “Bill” Scott, Susan “Susie” Nickell; grandchildren, Amanda (Greg) Hansen, Megan Scott, Jenny Nickell; great grandchildren, Lindsay and Mia; brother, William (Denise) Crosby; extended family and dear friends.
She is Preceded in death by her parents, William and Edna Crosby; and her son in law, Kevin Nickell.
A visitation and service will take place at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 10820 E. 39th St, Independence, Missouri 64055 on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Family will greet guests between the hours of 9-10 AM with service to follow at 10 AM.
Virginia will be laid to rest in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence, Missouri.
