Roual Duane Seaman, 85, passed away on August 13, 2015, in Independence, MO. Family will greet friends from 9-11am Tuesday, August 18, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Avenue in Independence, with a funeral service at 11:00am at the chapel. He will be laid to rest in Mount Washington Cemetery.
Duane was born on April 25, 1930, in East Chicago, Indiana, to Elmer Earl and Roxanna Isabell (Bennet) Seaman, and was raised in Sugar Creek. He graduated from Northeast High School and then joined the U.S. Air Force as a radio mechanic. He met Sadako Itabashi in 1953 and married in 1957. They later resided in Texas, and to this union was born a son, Victor Shayne. Duane attended the University of Houston and proudly worked for NASA in the Apollo and Saturn programs. He later began his own company, Aim Financial Systems Group, and was the CEO and President for 28 years, retiring in Independence, MO.
He will be dearly missed by his family: son, Victor Shayne Seaman and wife Milly, second son, Donald Vaughn, sister, Sue Inglish, brother, Gene Seamend and wife Margie, granddaughter, Victoria, nephews, Duane, Terry, Alan, Wes, Gene, and Lee, nieces, Sheilah, Sandi, and Debbie, 16 great-nieces, 5 great-nephews, and Duane’s best friend, Happy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadako, mother, Roxanna, father, Elmer, and sister, Diane.
