ESTHER E. SEGER
Esther E. Seger, 94, Sugar Creek, MO, passed away Feb. 9, 2012. Services will be at 10 am, Monday, Feb. 13 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 pm, Sunday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the American Heart Assoc. K.C. Chapter, 6800 W. 93rd St., Overland Park, KS 66212-1461 or Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals c/o Ararat Shrine, 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, MO 64127.
Esther was born April 17, 1917 in New Haven, MO. She came to Sugar Creek in 1945 and was a school bus driver for Pace School Bus Company for over nineteen years retiring in 1977. She was a member of the National Assoc. of Retired & Veteran Railroad Employees. She was a prolific quilter who made literally hundreds of quilts in her lifetime. She also loved gardening her flowers and vegetables - especially tomatoes.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband Roy Seger in 2004, three sisters, a brother, a grandchild and a great-grandchild. She is survived by sons Delmar R. Seger and wife Virginia; Gary D. Seger and wife LaDonna; Dennis W. Seger and wife Pat, all of Sugar Creek, MO; six grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
