Albert Shafer

Albert Leroy Shafer, 80, of Independence, MO passed away October 7, 2011. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, at Calvary Temple, 5607 St. John Avenue, Kansas City, MO. The service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, at Calvary Temple. Burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Leroy was born January 8, 1931. He is survived by his wife, Marge Shafer; five sons, Larry Shafer, Darrell Shafer, Dennis Shafer, Stephen Shafer, Michael Wilson; two daughters, Judy Wheeler and Georgia Boston; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Greaves and Darlene Ortega; as well as two step-daughters, Michelle Fraley and Pam Simmerman. Leroy was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Shafer; one son, Terry Shafer; and one sister, Freda Linn. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions being sent to the Outreach Program of Calvary Temple Church.
