Sheila Irene Fleming

Sheila Irene Fleming, born Sheila Shaw on February 24, 1946, in Wellington, Missouri, passed away on June 11, 2024, in Independence, Missouri. She was 78. Sheila led a remarkable life filled with love, kindness, and dedication.

After completing high school, Sheila pursued her passion for hairstyling by owning and operating her own hair salon, Blue Angel Beauty Shop. She was known for her exceptional skills and creativity in making others look and feel their best. Sheila's greatest joy came from being a mother to her children and later devoting herself entirely to raising them full-time. Described as strong, kind-hearted, and endlessly curious, Sheila had a knack for connecting with people on a deep level. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family; she was like a mother to everyone she met and made sure everyone had a full belly. Family was at the center of Sheila's world. She adored her children and grandchildren, treasuring every moment spent together with them. Her unconditional love and wisdom will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.

Sheila’s passing is preceded by her parents; Roy and Ruth Shaw, her sons; Ferren Fleming and Phillip Fleming, a family member raised as a sister; Gloria Hutton, as well as all her beloved brothers and sisters. Her legacy lives on through her daughter; Fonda Fleming, her son; Franklin Fleming (Susana Acosta), her daughter-in-law; Maria Fleming, her grandsons; Alex Fleming, Ethan Fleming, and Dimetri Fleming, as well as many friends and extended family members.

She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her legacy of warmth, generosity, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her presence.
