Sheila Ann Smith passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024 in Lee's Summit, Missouri, at the age of 68. Sheila was born on May 26, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Sheila graduated from high school in her hometown of St. Louis. For over a decade, Sheila excelled as a Supervisor at Caremark insurance company, where she was well-respected for her work ethic and her ability to inspire those around her.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sheila was known for her love of life. She enjoyed attending blues concerts and immersing herself in the vibrant world of live music. The joy she felt while enjoying these performances was infectious; her laughter could light up the darkest of rooms. She often found solace by the ocean, taking trips that reignited her spirit and filled her heart with joy.
A true bargain shopper at heart, Sheila enjoyed uncovering hidden gems at Cargo Largo and garage sales. It was not just about the deals; it was the thrill of the hunt and the stories she would bring home that brought her joy.
She is survived by her daughters, Beatrice Smith, Virginia Eckersley, Dena Snopek and Stacey Snopek; grandchildren, Raylene Adame, Cheyenne Snopek, Arriana Smith, Johnathan Negus, Brandon Negus, Michael Buckingham, Lucas Miller and Jacob Miller.
Sheila was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lani Smith and her furry companion, Sugar.
A visitation will be held on November 1, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Speaks Suburban Chapel, located at 18020 East 39th St S, Independence, MO 64055. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
Sheila Ann Smith remains in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to resonate in the music she loved and the adventures she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her.
