Sherry Lynn Hutchison, born on February 15, 1950, in Boicourt, Kansas, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, in Independence, Missouri. She was 75 years old.
Sherry dedicated over 12 years of her professional life to Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she served as a microfilm operator. She was respected for her work ethic and friendly demeanor. After Blue Cross Blue Shield she worked as a bus monitor for the Independence School district, then as a security guard up until she retired.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Sherry could attest to her bubbly, outgoing, and talkative personality. She was usually the life of the party, bringing joy and energy to every gathering. Friends and family will fondly remember her warmth and ability to connect with others, making even strangers feel at ease.
Outside of her professional life, she embraced her hobbies. Sherry enjoyed dancing, crocheting, swimming, and playing bingo. A devoted fan of Elvis Presley, she spent countless hours listening to his music and enjoying his many films.
Sherry is survived by her children, Robert Hutchison, Chris Hutchison, Mickey Hutchison and Trisha Harlan (Randall); dear friend, Cherrie Elliott; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Candi Faulkner, Debbie Tierney, JD Wood and Lloyd Upham; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Franklin Hutchison; parents, Homer Upham, Alice (Teitz) Wood and Dorval Wood; siblings, Terry Wood, Kelly Wood and Brenda Gambino; and great-grandchildren, Ryker and Addison.
Visitation services for Sherry Hutchison will be held on July 10, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Carson-Speaks Chapel, located at 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64052. Friends and community members are invited to come together to remember and honor the life of Sherry Hutchison. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
