Michael Lynn Shields, 58, Belton, MO formerly of Independence, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010.
A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be at 2:00 PM Monday, July 12, 2010 at Carson –Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Mike was born July 5, 1952 in Kansas City, MO the son of Virgil and Wanda (Brammer) Shields. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Mike was employed with Goldstar Transportation as a transportation broker. He enjoyed traveling and spending time in Branson, he especially loved being with his grandchildren and attending their football games.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife, Debbie Shields of the home; children, Michelle Wilson and her husband K.C. of North Kansas City; Jennifer Wilson of Grandview; Christopher Shields and his wife Deanna of Belton; Rachel Shields of Independence and her fiancé, Rodney Williams; 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters, Connie Wente and Vicki Fox; and brothers, Alan and Keith Shields.
