Lowell Short, 71, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, April 15, 2011. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Heart of God Fellowship, 3720 Buckner-Tarsney Rd., Buckner, MO 64016. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Lowell was born September 14, 1939 in
Salem, AR to Elmer and Lois (Cruthers) Short, one of nine children. He was a truck driver for 25 years, and retired from Continental Baking (Wonder Bread) in 1995. Lowell enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening in his spare time. His kids and grandkids were the light of his life! Mr. Short is survived by his wife of 49 years, Valree (Floyd) Short; daughter Karee Naudet and husband Steve; son Lowell Short, II and wife Tina; grandchildren Kayli, Aaron, Tyler, Stevee and Savannah; great-grandson Kolton; three brothers and one sister; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
