Dorothy Lee Shropshire, 89, of Sibley, MO passed away Saturday, September 26th. A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00am Wednesday, September 30th at Speaks Buckner Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 10:00am at the chapel. Burial will be at Buckner Hill Cemetery.
Dorothy was born November 22, 1925 in Lexington, MO as one of four girls to Ralph Benjamin and Ida Ellen (James) Coen. She attended Halls Memorial High School. Dorothy married her beloved Charles Calvin Shropshire on August 4th, 1945. Together they raised three children. She was a devoted wife and loving mother who enjoyed taking care of her house, canning goods, handicrafts like crochet and cooking good food. Her family remembers her as the sweetest, good natured and greatest mother.
Survivors include husband, Charlie of the home; son, Dwane Shropshire (Kebby); daughter, Shirley Shropshire; and son, Gerald Shropshire (Carrie) all of Sibley, MO; grandchildren Amanda S.; Justin S. (Jenn); Steve Jackley; Jason Kimbrell; Alyssa S. and Brianne S.; great grandchildren, Shana, Stephanie, Jenna, Derrek, and Ciera; sister, Pat Jeffries of Sibley, MO; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her.
