Ethel May Shull, 87, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away Monday, May 28, 2007 at John Knox Care Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1625 NW O’Brien, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 9-10:00 a.m. Burial in Machpelah Cemetery, Lexington, MO. Memorial gifts may be made to the church or the Lasker-White Scholarship Fund. Ethel May was born May 31, 1919 in Lexington, MO to Newell W. and Eugenia J. (Fallman) Shull. Miss Shull taught at Lexington, MO and in the Kansas City, MO District at Yeager, Ladd and Paseo. She was a coordinator in the district office and a counselor at Van Horn and Bingham Junior High School. She received an Associate of Arts Degree from Christian College, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Missouri (Columbia) and a Master of Arts from Columbia University (New York). She also studied at the University of Missouri (Kansas City), Avila College and Central Missouri State University. Miss Shull served as a Trustee of the Kansas City, MO Retirement System and as President and in other elective offices of the Kansas City, MO Federation of Teachers, Local 691. She was a life-time member of the Kansas City, MO Federation of Teachers, Retired Chapter, the Mary Paxton Study Class and the Lyric Opera Guild. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lee’s Summit where she served as Elder and in various positions in the Church School. She is survived by many family and friends.
