Marjorie W. Shull of Independence passed away Thursday, October 4, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs.
Marjorie was born January 31, 1924 in rural Saline County to George F. and Ella Rae (Bartels) LaRue. She attended school in Independence graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1942.
She married Ralph E. Shull in Marshall, MO on September 20, 1945. They had just celebrated their 62nd Anniversary. She was a loving wife, a cherished mother and adored her grandchildren.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and brother Kenneth LaRue. She leaves her husband Ralph, daughter Patricia Copeland of Independence, grandson Darren Copeland and wife Amy of Lee’s Summit, granddaughter Jennifer Wolff and husband David of Olathe, KS and adorable great-granddaughter Abigail. Marjorie had just been told that she was having a great-grandson and was very happy.
Marjorie worked for the J.C. Penney Company at their store on the Independence Square for 25 years, retiring in 1985. She was a Baptist by faith.
Services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 9 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM, Monday evening at the chapel.
