Barbara J. Siecke, 74, Independence, MO died Feb. 22, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital of Blue Springs. Services will be at 10 am, Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008 at Carson-Speaks Chapel followed by a 2 pm graveside service at the Holden Cemetery, Holden, MO. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday at the funeral home. The family requests contributions to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1322 N. Halstead St., Ste. 201, Chicago, IL 60622.
Barbara was born March 25, 1933 in Seattle, WA. She taught school after graduating from Kearney State Teachers College. She married Daryl Siecke in 1952. After attending Penn Valley Community College, she began a career as a dietician. She worked at Medical Center of Independence for twenty years and then five years at St. Mary’s Manor. Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Independence where she took part in Bible study and was a former Sunday School teacher.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl in 1979 and infant son, Robert Siecke. She is survived by daughters Kathy Greer and husband Larry, Surprise, AZ; Sherry Stribling and husband Don, Independence, MO; brother Larry Cusimano and wife Linnie, Grandview, MO; grandsons Chris Pinick and wife Mickie; Chad Pinick; Richard Paddack, all of Independence, MO; great-grandaughter Allie Jo Pinick; nephew Lanny Cusimano and niece Lori Eurich.
