Wanda Rose Sims (Heishman)

Wanda R. Sims, 82, Independence, MO passed away July 13, 2015. Services will be 10 am, Friday, July 17 at Susquehanna Assembly of God, 612 N Jennings Rd, Independence, MO 64056; interment at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday at the church. 6800 93rd St, Overland Park, KS 66212. Wanda was born Jan. 19, 1933 in Triplett, MO and grew up in the Kansas City area. She was an Avon Representative for over twenty-five years and also helped her husband run the family business – R.R. Sims Roofing. She was a member of Susquehanna Assembly of God and at one time worked in the Day Care at church. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards and puzzles. She and her husband loved to travel and owned a house at the Lake of the Ozarks before becoming “snowbirds” spending their winters in Arizona. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Bob Sims, son Bobby Sims, grandsons Jeremy Sims and Shane Sims and sister Judy Mulkey, She is survived by daughter Sharon Grammer and husband Jack, Independence, MO; son Doug Sims and wife Wetta, Oak Grove, MO; daughter Karen Sims; sister Fern Wright, both of Independence, MO; brother Bill Heishman and wife Joyce, Odessa, MO; sister Nancy Cooper and husband Doyle, Oak Grove, MO; eleven grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
