Felipe Lian-Fuy Siy, 84, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at his residence. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m., Saturday November 26, 2011 at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence. All family and friends are welcome to gather from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052.
Felipe was born September 18, 1927 in Manila, Philippines, and moved to mainland China with his family at one year of age. He attended National Taiwan University from 1947-1952, earning a B.S. in mechanical engineering. He then graduated from Kansas State University with a masters degree in agricultural/mechanical engineering in 1956. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Farmland Industries until he retired in 1987.
Felipe enjoyed traveling, yard work, and photography. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gayla of the home; four daughters, Suzan Wiemers and husband Tim of Houston, TX, Linda Siy of Ft. Worth, TX, Jennifer Siy and her two children Natalie and Michelle Holste of Romeoville, IL and Alicia Siy-Seaver and her husband Nathan of Vancouver, WA.
