Virginia Slusher

April 27, 1918 — April 21, 2010

Elaine Z. Slusher, 91 of Independence, MO entered into new life on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Carnegie Village Assisted Living in Belton, MO after completing a wonderful life on earth. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Speaks. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2010 in the Knob Noster Cemetery in Knob Noster, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Independence or the charity of your choice. Elaine was born in Knob Noster, MO to W.E. and Ella (Gillum) Zink, the youngest of nine children. Her adult life was spent in Independence where she served in many leadership capacities at the First Christian Church and with Church Women United. Mrs. Slusher loved working in the Christian Women’s Fellowship at church as well as the regional church. Elaine delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Elaine and Dean both liked going to watch the Athletics and Royals play baseball. Mrs. Slusher is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Ginny and Jim Bottrell; granddog Buster; and several nieces, nephews and friends. Elaine’s family would like to thank the staff at Carnegie Village Assisted Living and Crossroad’s Hospice for their wonderful care and support especially over these last difficult months of her life!
