Rose Marie Smalley, 85, Independence, MO passed away Monday, July 11, 2011.
Memorial services will be at 5:00 PM Friday, July 15, 2011 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Rose was born June 11, 1926 in Independence, MO the daughter of Edward and Rosa (Douglas) Bowers. She was a graduate of William Chrisman High School. Rose had worked for the Harold Publishing Company. She was a member of the Independence Senior Crafts Shop where she enjoyed making crafts and quilts.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Christopher Smalley; brother, Edward Bowers; and her parents. Survivors include her son, Chris Smalley; daughter, Linda Stipa and husband Nick; and grandson Chris Seek.
