Ida Smith

Ida Mae Smith, 87 of Kansas City, MO passed away, Saturday, May 21, 2011. Cremation is planned. Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Research. Ida was born January 28, 1924 in Correctionville, IA to Ellis Donald and Dorothy Ada (Watson) McGraw. She had worked as a supply aide for the Osteopathic hospital in Kansas City for a number of years until she retired in 1989. She enjoyed working puzzle books and shopping. Ida was married to Virgil Raymond Smith, who preceded her in death in September of 1975. She is survived by; 2 daughters, Sandra Matthews of Kansas City, MO and Nancy Printy and husband Don of Breckenridge, MO; a son, Robert Smith of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Julia Bush of Kansas City, MO; a brother Robert VanVickle of Springfield, MO; 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren due soon. A sister, Ruby Miller and 3 brothers, Billy VanVickle, Danny VanVickle and Jimmy VanVickle, preceded her in death.
