Peggy Ann Smith, 36, Independence, MO passed away May 26, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Graveside services will be at 10 am, Sat., May 30, 2009 at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6 �" 8 pm, Friday at Carson-Speaks Chapel. The family suggests contributions to Cancer Action, 4010 S. Lynn Court Dr., Independence, MO 64055.
Peggy was born Oct. 1, 1972 in Lee’s Summit, MO. She grew up in the Independence area and was a life-long resident. She enjoyed scrap booking, crocheting, baked great apple pies and was very family-oriented.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father Wayne Nelson. She is survived by her husband Matt Smith; daughter Bethany Smith; son Matthew Smith; mother Nioma Nelson, all of the home; in-laws Jim & Isabella Smith, Independence, MO; sisters Glenda Haupt and husband Charlie, Littleton, CO; Michele Goguen and husband Mike, Clarksville, TN; Rhonda Kramer, Western Grove, AR; niece Misty Lewis and husband Scott, Independence, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
