Sue Smith

Sue Smith 75, of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, April 6, 2009 at her residence. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Mound Grove Cemetery. Sue was born October 12, 1933 in West Monroe, LA to Oakley Garci and Katie Elizabeth (Malone) Branch. She graduated from high school in Deering, MO and attended UMKC and CMSU. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed cooking, painting, modeling, acting and writing. She had previously worked as an executive secretary, fashion model, realtor and owned rental property. She was a member of South Crysler Restoration Branch. She is survived by; her husband of nearly 58 years, Leonard Smith of the home; a daughter, Teresa Thompson and husband Leonard of Independence, MO; a son, Anthony Smith and wife Chere of Independence, MO; 2 sisters, Carroll Rash and husband Ross of Independence, MO and Judy Rancour and husband Maurice of Paso Robles, CA; a brother, Drew Branche and wife Diana of Santa Maria, CA and 2 grandchildren, Ian Thompson and, Collin Smith and a step grandchild Adam Rogers.
