William (Bill) Howard Smith, 81, Independence, MO passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009.
Bill was born June 15, 1928 in Kansas City, KS the son of Howard and Mary Lee (LeBedee) Smith. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Bill was owner and operator of Tucker Gas Station for 17 years. He was a member of the VFW. Bill enjoyed fishing, NASCAR racing and going to the boats.
He was preceded in death by wife, Margaret (Jayne) Smith in 1994; and his parents.
Survivors include his daughter, Barbara M. Fontaine and her husband Daniel of Independence; son, Dennis H. Smith of Kansas City, KS; and brother, Jerry Smith.
Memorial services will be at a later date.
