Betty Smoot

Betty L. Smoot, 58, of Blue Springs, MO peacefully passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at her home surrounded by family. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2009 at Centralia City Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Fund or Kansas City Hospice. Betty was born August 19, 1951 in Hannibal, MO to Joseph and Mabel Christine (Montgomery) Smith. She retired from State Farm Insurance after 38 years of faithful service. Betty’s life revolved around her family! She loved her nieces and nephews dearly. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Pete Smoot; daughter Sara Acton and husband Ron; son Jeffrey Smoot; brothers Cecil Smith and wife Kathy, John Smith and wife Vida, Joe Smith and wife Shele, Jesse Smith and wife Tonda, Eddie Smith and wife Regina; sister Cindy Lehenbauer and husband Roger; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Mrs. Smoot was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Bud and Fred Smith.
