Harold Richard "Pete" Smoot

Harold “Pete” Smoot (66) of Blue Springs, Mo, formerly of Centralia, MO, died Wednesday, July, 22, 2015. He was born August 12, 1948 to the late Leo Smoot, Sr. and Dorothy Haney Smoot. He was married for 38 years to Betty Smith Smoot and together they had two children. He will be greatly missed by his daughter and son, Sara Smoot Acton (Ron) and Jeffrey Smoot and his grandson, Tanner Acton, all of Blue Springs, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, and sister Jane Fritz Starkey. He is survived by two brothers, Leo Smoot, Jr. (Ann) of Bartlett, Il., and Howard Smoot (Jolene) of Centralia, MO and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of Missouri, Pete has always enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Mizzou athletics, Blue Springs and Blue Springs South High School football as well as fishing and golf and working in his yard and garden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Springs Education Foundation. Visitation will be from 4-6pm, Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be 10am Monday, July 27, 2015 at City Centralia Cemetery, Centralia, MO.
