Burley Snodgrass, 86, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday at Speaks. Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Burley was born November 30, 1921 in Hernshaw, WV to Fred and Pearlie Catherine (Clark) Snodgrass. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII participating in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Snodgrass retired as a Foreman from the City of Independence in 1989. He loved the Lord deeply and was a faithful and active member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Burley had a loving heart and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He is survived by his children Burley Snodgrass, Jr and his wife Sharon, Joyce Deskins, Frances Deskins and husband Noel, Freddie Snodgrass, Danny Snodgrass; grandchildren Marsha Adamson and husband Todd, Rhonda Hughes, Deborah Contreras, Jeffrey Hicks, great-grandchildren Neal, Hunter, Jessica, Erin, Stacy, Quincy, Joshua, Christopher and Clayton; brother Kenneth Snodgrass and wife Loradean; niece Tammy Rogers and husband Dale. Mr. Snodgrass was preceded in death by his wife Margaret in 1991 and grandson Troy Deskins in 1993.
