John Joseph Snyder, 82 of Independence passed away Thu. Feb 28, 2008 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Mon. Mar. 3, 2008 at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Indep. MO. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 �" 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the chapel with the Rosary being said at 4:00 p.m. Contributions are suggested to the Catholic Charities of Kansas City or to Kansas City Hospice. Mr. Snyder was born on May 22, 1925 in Kansas City, MO and was a lifelong area resident. He had been a custodian with the Fort Osage School District retiring in the early 1990’s. John was a loving and caring person who enjoyed playing the piano, taking long walks, ringing the Christmas bell for the Salvation Army and writing children’s plays and music, many of which are copyrighted. He was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church and was a previous member of St. Mary’s. John was baptized into the Catholic Church on Jun 26, 1925 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.. John is survived by his companion, Sheila Maxwell; a son, Jason Clemons and wife Michele; four daughters, Carla Hartel and companion Steve Lingle, Brenda Williams and husband Ben, Rhonda Ashby and husband Dan and Karen Clemons and companion Justin Smith, all of Independence. Ten grandchildren and many friends.
