Marjorie Elizabeth Sooter, 94, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at St. Lukes East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO. Services for Mrs. Sooter will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the chapel, immediately preceding the service. Burial at Mount Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO.
Marjorie was born on November 17, 1917 in Kansas City, MO to parents Clifford and Elizabeth (Oswald) Snider. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, and bird watching, but most especially the time spent at the lake with her family.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Kent Sooter and wife Nancy of Independence, MO; sister Zola Browning, Independence MO; granddaughters Danielle (Preston) Turley of Columbia, MO, and Jacqueline Glynn of Independence, MO; three great-grandchildren, Chevelle, Grayson, and Weston, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Harold Sooter, sister Dorothy Roscoe, and brother Howard Snider. The family wishes to express thanks to the staff at St. Lukes East for their wonderful care and concern for Marjorie during her stay at the hospital.
