Richard Speer

Richard V. Speer, 63, Louisburg, KS, died June 9, 2008 at Olathe Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Friday, June 13, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Independence, MO; interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. A Prayer Service will be held at 6 pm, Thursday at Carson-Speaks Chapel followed by a visitation from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.
Richard was born April 29, 1945 in Kansas City. He graduated from William Chrisman High School. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam. He was a Past Commander of the American Legion Post in Louisburg, a Lifetime VFW Member, a member of the Abdullah Shrine and a Mason.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Roy Speer and son Adam Speer. He is survived by sons Richard V. Speer II and wife Molly Anne, Kremmiling, CO; Lucas Speer and wife April, Drexel, MO; daughter Kala Russell, Louisburg, KS, his mother Rose Speer, Independence, MO; brother Ronald Speer, Kansas City, MO; and grandchildren Megan, Isabella and Adam.
