Faun Spillman, 96, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Edgewood Manor. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 PM Saturday, February 13 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Services will begin at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Chapel with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
Faun was born Aug. 19, 1913 in Kincaid, KS to Alonzo and Alice (Zornes) Miller. She graduated from high school and married Eldon Spillman. Together they farmed in Kansas and she taught in a one room school house before moving to Independence. She then worked as an inspector at Lake City Ammunition Plant for more than twenty years prior to her retirement. In her spare time she enjoyed playing the piano, cooking and shopping. Faun was preceded in death by her husband Eldon in 2003. Survivors include her daughter Lucretta Flagg; sister Loretta Joyce Miller; grandsons Richard Alan Flagg and wife Diane and Jeffery Christopher Flagg and wife Susan; great-grandchildren: Kira, Chelsie, Ashleigh and Jace; and great-great-grandson Cooper.
